    A measles alert has been issued in NSW after a man spent four days in Sydney while on holiday from Queensland?s Gold Coast.

    The man, aged in his 40s, was infectious while travelling on Tiger Airways flight TT609 on June 29 and then a train to Circular Quay, NSW Health said on Saturday.

    He spent time in Circular Quay, including a stop at Cafe Rossini and a ferry to Manly with a stop at Blue Water Cafe and back that day.

    On Sunday June 30, he spent the day with visitors in Sydney before travelling around the city again on Monday July 1, with a trip on public transport from Berowra to Wynyward station and a day spent at The Rocks Discovery Museum, The Australian Hotel and Starbuck?s at Hyde Park.

    The man caught a train from Central Station to the airport on the morning of Tuesday July 2 and Jetstar flight JQ420 back to the Gold Coast.

    It?s believed he acquired the measles while in Thailand.

    NSW Health urged anyone who may have been in contact with the man to be alert for symptoms of the disease, which can take up to 18 days to appear...

      A child developed symptoms after returning from overseas last week and was unknowingly infectious while visiting a number of locations in the region:

      Just Pharmacy at Murrumba Downs Shopping Centre between 7pm and 7.45pm on Tuesday, July 2.

        A fresh measles alert for NSW has been issued after a man was diagnosed with the disease upon returning to Sydney from Southeast Asia.

        The man spent time in Hornsby, Lane Cove, Lindfield, Sydney's CBD, Newtown and Erskineville while infectious between 30 June and 8 July.

        NSW Health communicable diseases director Vicky Sheppeard said none of the locations visited by the man posed an ongoing risk but it can take up to 18 days for symptoms to appear following exposure...

          A measles warning has been issued in Perth after a person was diagnosed with the illness.

          The West Australian Health Department says the person visited several public areas in Perth and Northbridge between July 12 and 14.

          Friday July 12 - Universal Store, 200 Murray Street, Perth, during the hours of midday to 6pm
          Saturday July 13 - Tony Roma?s, 919 Hay Street, Perth, during the hours of 6-8pm and Mechanics? Institute Bar, 222 William Street, Northbridge, during the hours of 7pm to 10pm

            Measles alert issued for Perth to Singapore passengers

            West Australians who travelled on Scoot flights between Singapore and Perth on July 13 have been warned of a possible measles exposure.

            The Health Department issued an alert for passengers on the international flights to remain vigilant for the onset of measles symptoms, up until July 31.

            Authorities hold concerns for passengers on Scoot Flight TR8 from Singapore to Perth, which arrived at 5.10pm, and Scoot Flight TR9 from Perth to Singapore, which departed Perth at 6.10pm and landed in Singapore at 11.30pm.

            The department?s communicable diseases senior medical advisor Dr Clare Huppatz said the potential exposure to measles occurred only on the Scoop flights on the dates and times specified...

              People who have visited or live in the Busselton area are being asked to be alert to the risk of measles following confirmation of an additional case in the region.
              It is the second time this month the WA Country Health Service has issued a measles warning for Busselton.
              Individuals should remain vigilant for the onset of measles symptoms throughout the next 18 days if they visited Vasse Coles and surrounds in the afternoon or evenings of July 21, 22, 23 and 24 or Vasse McDonald?s in the evening of July 24.
              Children and adults who have been inadvertently exposed are at risk of developing measles if they are not already immune.

                Measles alert for SA after young woman contracts infection in Europe

                SA Health has issued an urgent warning after a young woman contracted measles while travelling.

                The 19-year-old Adelaide woman recently returned from Europe with the infection.

                The health authority has warned anyone in the following locations may have been exposed to the highly-infectious disease:

                Royal Adelaide Hospital Emergency Department on Wednesday 31 July between 6:30pm and 8:00pm
                Hampstead Health Family Practice, 1/237 Hampstead Road, Lightsview, on Tuesday 30 July between 12pm and 1:10pm and Wednesday 31 July between 9:00am and 10:00am
                Adelaide Metro Buses on Monday 29 July: Route 502 Gilles Plains to Adelaide City continuing as Route 110 to West Lakes between 11:15am and 12:15pm, and Route 502 Adelaide City to Salisbury Interchange and return to City between 1:15pm and 2:15pm
                University of Adelaide Engineering Building, Adelaide, on Monday 29 July between 12pm and 1:30pm
                Tea Tree Plaza Shopping Centre, Modbury, on Friday 26 July between 3:00pm and 5:30pm

                  Three new measles cases in Victoria

                  A nine-month-old boy is one of three new measles cases in Victoria.

                  The other patients include a man in his 20s who contracted measles while in the Philippines and a woman in her 40s who got the illness while travelling in Thailand and Singapore, the state health department confirmed on Friday.

                    AN urgent measles alert has been issued for the Gold Coast, after two people from the same family visited a number of popular destinations whilst unknowingly infected with the highly contagious disease.

                    The Gold Coast Public Health Unit said both people visited Reading Cinemas in Harbour Town and the popular restaurant precinct between 6.30pm and 10.00pm on Thursday July 18.

                    They were also at Ikea Logan on the morning of Friday 19 July, before visiting the Gold Coast University Hospital Emergency Department on Sunday 21 July between 6pm and midnight.

                    They then shopped at Australia Fair Shopping Centre on Tuesday 30 July between 12pm and 1pm, before visiting Big Top Playhouse Coomera on Wednesday 31 July between 11am and 2pm.

                    Other locations the family visited included Westfield Helensvale, on Thursday 1 August between 4pm and 8pm, Destiny Church Group at Event Cinemas, Westfield Coomera on Sunday 4 August between 9am and 12pm, Pimpama State School Auction Fun Day on Sunday 4 August between 2pm and 3pm and the Gold Coast University Hospital Emergency Department on Tuesday 6 August.

                    The Public Health Unit is currently contacting people who may have come into contact with the infected individuals, however Gold Coasters are being urged to remain alert for measles symptoms until at least 25 August...

                      Third measles case: Warning to travellers on Etihad flight, airport customers

                      Passengers on a recent Etihad Airways flight returning to Sydney from Abu Dhabi are being urged to check for symptoms of measles, after an unvaccinated man was diagnosed with the infection upon his return from the middle east.

                      It is the third such case in two days.

                      The man was infectious while travelling on Etihad Airways flight EY 451 from Abu Dhabi, which arrived at Sydney International Airport at 11:55pm on Friday August 16.

                      Anyone who travelled on the flight or attended the airport - including baggage carousels, customs and the arrivals area - in the early hours of the morning of Saturday August 17 should be alert for signs and symptoms of measles until September 3...

                              Two Australians have sparked measles scares across Queensland after travelling from New Zealand, where there is a current outbreak.

                              A Sunshine Coast man and a woman, whose address is unknown, both returned from New Zealand with measles in the last week.

                              The Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS) says the man was was unknowingly infectious while visiting the Peregian area.

                              The SCHHS says he visited the following areas while infectious:

                              Peregian Beach Hotel on Friday, 27 September between 5pm and 6.30pm
                              Peregian Springs Shopping Centre, Sunday, 29 September between 10am-11.30pm.

                              A second case of measles was reported in Mooloolaba after a woman arrived in Brisbane from Queenstown, New Zealand and stayed at the Peninsular Beachfront Resort over the weekend.

                              The Metro North Public Health Unit (MNPHU) says the Australian citizen was unknowingly infectious while staying at the Peninsular Beachfront Resort at Mooloolaba, from 28 September to 1 October.

                              During this time, she visited several cafes and restaurants in the Mooloolaba Esplanade shopping precinct...

                                A Measles Alert Has Been Issued for Sydney’s Northern Suburbs
                                An infectious person visited a number of locations between Thursday September 25 and Monday September 30.

                                NSW Health has issued another measles warning, this time for suburbs in Sydney’s north. An infected person contracted the illness either in Brazil or New Zealand and visited a number of locations while infectious.

                                Some of the locations they visited between September 25 and September 30 while infectious are: Macquarie Shopping Centre; Royal North Shore Hospital, St Leonards; Macquarie University Station; Epping Station; North Ryde Station; Chicken on Oxford, Epping; Coles, Pacific Epping; Harvey Norman, North Ryde; and Domayne, North Ryde.

                                None of the locations pose a current ongoing risk but NSW Health reminds people who visited the area on those dates to be alert for measles symptoms until Wednesday October 19. It can take up to 18 days for symptoms to present following exposure...
