    Manhattan Resident Gets Measles From Exposure In Sunset Park
    The city said 550 individuals had been diagnosed with measles as of May 28 since the outbreak first began last October.

    ...A DOH spokesman said the Manhattanite resides in the area of the Chelsea and Clinton neighborhoods and became ill early last week. The department said the resident was diagnosed after exposure to the disease in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, where there are 12 confirmed cases after the outbreak spread to that neighborhood earlier this month.

    Seven people in Staten Island were also diagnosed with measles, the DOH said. Six of those were linked to exposure in Rockland County back in March while the seventh was linked to Sunset Park measles activity, the department said...

    ...About 77 percent of measles cases are in the Williamsburg ZIP codes of 11205, 11206, 11211 and 11249, where people who live or work are required to have the measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccine under an emergency order from April...

          Recent Outbreak in Brooklyn and Queens

          As of June 3, 2019, there have been 566 confirmed cases in NYC since September. Most of these cases have involved members of the Orthodox Jewish community.
          Vaccination Requirement in Brooklyn

          On April 9, the Health Commissioner ordered every adult and child who lives, works or resides in the following ZIP codes and has not received the measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccine to be vaccinated:
          • 11205
          • 11206
          • 11211
          • 11249

          On April 17, the Board of Health voted unanimously to adopt a resolution supporting the Commissioner's order and the vaccination requirement.
          As of June 3, 27,074 doses of the MMR vaccine have been administered to people who are under 19 years old in Williamsburg and Borough Park since October.
          People who demonstrate they are immune from measles or have a medical condition that prevents them from receiving the vaccine will not need to get vaccinated.
          If the Health Department identifies a person with measles or an unvaccinated child exposed to measles in one of the above ZIP codes, that individual or their parent or guardian could be fined $1,000.

            LIBERTY ? There are five confirmed cases of measles since March in Sullivan County and now the Public Health Department has issued an advisory for possible exposures to individuals who recently tested positive for the virus. There are two suspected cases.

            Residents may have been exposed if they were at:

            Gibbers-Viznitz in Kiamesha Lake on May 16 between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m., or between May 25 and June 2,
            Yeshiva Gedolah Zichron Moshe in South Fallsburg between May 14 and 22 or between May 25 and June 3,
            Garden Terrace in Fallsburg on May 18 between 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m...

                Measles: Rockland County announces Spring Valley exposure site

                Another measles exposure site was announced in Rockland County, where an eight-month outbreak has led to a total of 259 confirmed cases.

                Anyone who visited Pharmacy Plus, 728 N. Main St., Spring Valley, on Tuesday, May 28 from 1-2 p.m., may have been exposed to measles, with a risk of exposure until 4 p.m.

                The time frame reflects the period that the infected individuals were in this area and a two-hour period after they left the area, because the highly contagious virus remains in the air and on surfaces for up to two hours...

                      Officials announced more sites where you could have been exposed to measles in the Hudson Valley, including a doctor's office and a pharmacy.


                      On Monday, the Sullivan County Public Health Department announced more possible measles exposure sites and confirmed seven Sullivan County residents have tested positive for measles this year.

                      Residents may have been exposed to measles if they were at the following location on June 1, between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. or between 4 p.m. and 10 p.m.
