    12 die of measles in a month

    Bahawalnagar - Measles onslaught continued unabated as the death toll rose to 12 during the last one month. The people cried foul at indifference of health authorities. Basti Islamabad and Bheni Shiekhan Wali are under serious onslaught of measles as 12 children died of the disease during one month. The victims Afshan, 5, Arslan, 2, Farman, 3, Sadam, 3, zaman, 2, Neelum, 2, Aalia, 9 months, Ajwa, 2, Ahmad, 1, Nadia, 10, six months old Ishrat and Adeel, 4, have died of the disease. The families of victims claimed that their children were never vaccinated.

    The threat of outbreak of deadly disease looming large and wave of fear spread all around. If remedial measures are not immediately taken, more deaths are feared. They also staged a protest demonstration against health authorities...

      Three more children die in measles outbreak

      KHAIRPUR: Three more children died on Sunday due to an outbreak of highly contagious measles in Saleh Pat, a town of Sukkur District in Sindh province.

      Reportedly, the children including Tahira Mangsi, Majida Mangsi and Maryam Mangsi died in Mangsi Mohalla as the virus has spread across the region, and infected dozens of children. The villagers have repeatedly appealed to the district administration of Sukkur to dispatch teams of doctors to their villages for vaccinating the children

        Three children infected with measles

        MULTAN:
        At least three children have been infected with measles in Multan on Sunday, Express News reported.

        Doctors at Children?s Complex said that two-year-old Hassan, three-year-old Haleema and nine-month-old Waqar were admitted to the health facility after catching the virus. They said all the victims were being provided treatment and were being kept in the isolation ward at the hospital.

        Earlier, a report released by the World Health Organisation revealed that 5,871 cases of measles were reported in Pakistan in 2016. The figure almost doubled in 2017 to 10,540 cases, while laboratory tests confirmed 2,806 and 6,437 reported cases in 2016 and 2017 respectively...

          In what appears to be first reported case during ongoing season, an infant died of measles in Sanghar?s drought hit Achro Thar Desert.

          According to local sources, there is a possibility of measles outbreak in the area as there are several children who have been affected from the infection.

          As per details, 18-month old Saahar, son of Nagar Rajar was resident of Thurahoo village in Union Council (UC) Kamil Hingoro. The infant passed away on Saturday...

            Teams sent to remote village in Torghar after measles outbreak

            MANSEHRA: District Health Officer, Torghar, Dr Naeem Awan, on Wednesday said they had dispatched mobile health teams to Mera Madakhail village where measles outbreak claimed the life of a young boy and left scores of others infected.

              Measles epidemic spreading in Buner, Dir, Peshawar

              (MENAFN - Tribal News Network) PESHAWAR: Measles epidemic is spreading rapidly in Buner, Upper Dir, Lower Dir and Peshawar as several cases have been reported in these districts during the last one week.

              The Health Department EPI (Expanded Programme for Immunisation) Director Muhammad Akram Shah said measles is spreading quickly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said 16 measles cases surfaced in Buner, 12 in Upper Dir, 10 in Lower Dir and 11 in the provincial capital during the last one week. He said medical treatment is being provided to the affected children, while vaccination is also underway in the affected areas...
