    SHIKARPUR: Larkana commissioner Muhammad Abbas Baloch censured Shikarpur district health officer Dr Zulfikar Abro at a meeting on Sunday after he was told about the death of 12 children from a measles outbreak in the area, said a statement.

    According to the statement issued by Shikarpur district information officer Muhammad Abbas Baloch, the commissioner expressed his great concern over the poor performance of health officers and censured them when he came to know about the death of 12 children due to measles.     Three children die after anti-measles vaccine in Nawabshah

    NAWABSHAH: Three infants died and five were hospitalized in critical condition after anti-measles vaccine was administered to them in Nawabshah.

    According to our correspondent, the incident occurred after a team of health workers allegedly administered expired measles vaccines to the children in Saeedabad area of Nawabshah.

    The vaccine destabilized health of at least eight children who were rushed to civil hospital Nawabshah were three children died, family members of the victims said.

    Doctors believe that expired vaccines are the reason behind the deaths, but district health officials and the vaccination teams have denied it...

      Measles outbreak kills six children in Badin

      BADIN: At least six children have lost their lives in a week after measles outbreak in Badin district of Sindh.

      According to our correspondent, the disease has affected more than 40 children in a Rato Kolhi viallage of Badin, claiming lives of seven children in last seven days.

      Teams of doctors were dispatched to the village after the deaths were reported.

      Doctors fear that the disease could potentially spread and turn into an epidemic, despite anti-measles vaccination campaign by Sindh health authorities...

        The misery of the people of Tharparkar continues after an outbreak of measles and malnutrition killed five children in the impoverished area of Sindh.

        According to sources, the latest casualties that took place at Mithi Civil Hospital had taken the total number of infant deaths in Thar district to 123 this year.

        Talking to reporters, the parents of the deceased children said that measles and other infectious diseases had claimed the lives of their children. They alleged that the lacklustre attitude of doctors and the absence of vital drugs were the main factors behind the deaths.

          The measles virus reportedly claimed 10 more lives in two days in different districts of Sindh, adding to dozens of deaths since the apparent outbreak began last month. Six children died on Sunday and four others on Monday.

          The district and sessions court in Shikarpur, where 10 children have died in Khanpur taluka including three in the last two days, has taken notice and assigned an inquiry to a civil judge on Monday.

          In Khanpur?s Garhi Ayub village, five-year-old Asif, son of Abdul Rasheed, three-year-old Fozia, daughter of Abdul Jabbar, and five-year-old Mujahid, son of Sikandar Ali, died in two days.             Measles outbreak claims lives of four children in Swat

            SWAT: Four children lost their lives due to a measles outbreak in the Bahrain tehsil of Swat.

            According to Bahrain Nazim Habibullah, thirteen other affected children were shifted to Saidu Sharif Hospital in Swat.

                    DADU: At least four children lost their lives on Saturday in the villages of Dadu district.

                    Five-month-old Uzairan and four-month-old Qadir died in Gul Muhammad Shah village.

                    While four-year-old Shazia Birohi died in Mado village on Sunday.

                    Reportedly, 12-month-old Salma died while 22 others were admitted in the civil hospital after a fresh measles outbreak in Wahid Bux Lund village.

                            KHAIRPUR: Four more children died on Thursday due to an outbreak of highly contagious measles in Ubaro, a town in Ghotki District and Faiz Gunj, a taluka of Khairpur district.

                            Reportedly, the virus has spread across Khairpur, Sukkur, Ghotki, Naushahro Feroze districts. Many children have died while hundreds are suffering from the deadly virus. Three children namely two-year-old Muhammad Yamin, one-year-old Ahsan Ahmed and three-year-old Ghulam Yamin died in RB Malik village while eight-year-old Suriya died in Rasool Bux village.

                              HYDERABAD:
                              The measles virus claimed the lives of seven children in Kashmore-Kandhkot and Ghotki districts on Thursday. Four deaths were reported from the former and three from the latter.

                              Two-year-old Riaz Malik, three-year-old Sadori Malik and four-year-old Ayesha Marwari died after being infected with measles for around a week in Wazir Khan Bijarani village in Kashmore-Kandhkot. The fourth death of two-year-old Shamail Malik occurred in a suburban locality of Tangwani taluka in the same district.

                              District Health Officer Dr Kartar Lal told the local media that measles cases are being reported from different parts of Tangwani area. He added that the medical teams have been sent to the area to treat the ailing children and immunise others...
