    Minnesota health officials are investigating three cases of measles in Hennepin County in an effort to identify the source of the infections and determine if others have been exposed.

    So far investigators have confirmed measles in three toddlers in Hennepin County, according to the Minnesota Department of Health. Like most new cases in the United States, the infected children were not vaccinated against the disease...

    A Hennepin County outbreak of childhood measles now includes eight cases, after five more cases were confirmed by the Minnesota Department of Health.

    The department said Friday that all eight cases are unvaccinated children between the ages of 1 and 4.

    Investigators are trying to trace the infections and protect others who may have been exposed. Seven of the confirmed cases are Somali-American children, and all but one have common contact. Six of the children were hospitalized...

        MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP - The Minnesota Department of Health confirmed Wednesday a measles outbreak in the Twin Cities has grown, now affecting 11 patients.

        All the cases are children under five years old and nine of them are Somali-American.

            Vaccinations are urged to control the outbreak, which officials said could see more cases.

            The Hennepin County measles outbreak grew to 20 cases Monday, after eight new infections were confirmed.

            State health officials said that all of the cases have occurred within the Somali-American community, and they urged parents to get the measles vaccine for themselves and their children if they are unvaccinated.

            The outbreak is expected to produce many more cases and could exceed the 2011 outbreak of 26 cases, according to Kris Ehresmann, infectious disease director at the Minnesota Health Department.

            So far, all of those who have caught the measles in this outbreak are 5 years old or younger. Exposure has occurred at several day care centers...

              According to the MDH, all of the cases are in Hennepin County. The cases of the outbreak range from zero to five years in age, and all of the confirmed cases are Somali children.

                Three new measles cases were reported Wednesday by state health officials in an outbreak that has now sickened 24 children.

                State officials said earlier this week that the current outbreak will likely exceed one in 2011, when 26 people developed the highly-infectious disease.

                All the cases so far are in Hennepin County, in Somali-American children aged 5 years or younger. Investigations have shown that 23 of them had not received the measles vaccine; health investigators are obtaining records for the remaining child...

                  Five more cases of measles were reported Thursday as health officials also announced that the outbreak has spread to Stearns County.

                  A total of 29 children have now been sickened by measles since the end of March, making it the largest outbreak in the state since 1990. Until now, the outbreak had been limited to Hennepin County, but the state health department said that one case has developed in Stearns. Details about that case were not released...

                    Measles continues it's spread across Minnesota

                    ST. PAUL, Minn. (Valley News Live): The current measles infection continues to spread throughout Minnesota, upping the number to 32.

                    The Minnesota Department of Health reports 28 of the cases of infection are in children of Somali descent. All 32 cases are in children ranging in age from 0-5 years old.,,

                      As of Monday, the Minnesota Department of Health website reported 34 confirmed cases in this most recent outbreak. That's the most since a deadly 1990 outbreak when 460 cases were diagnosed in the state, leading to three fatalities...

                        Seven new cases announced Thursday afternoon.

                        State officials reported seven new cases of measles Thursday, bringing the case count to 41 in an outbreak that has now reached its first adult and spread beyond the state?s Somali community.

                        Health officials also said two of the 41 patients had been vaccinated for the highly-contagious disease.

                        As the outbreak grows, it has also spread beyond Hennepin County. There are now two cases in Ramsey County and one in Crow Wing County. A case in Stearns County that was announced last week has since been ruled out as measles, health officials said.

                        State health officials expect there to be more cases and repeated their call for unvaccinated Minnesotans to get shots...

                              GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. (KARE 11) The Minnesota Department of Health has now confirmed 50 cases of the measles, as some of the largest hospitals in the state extend their restrictions on who can visit.

                              Two cases have been reported in Ramsey County, one in Crow Wing County and the rest are in Hennepin County.

                              Almost all of the cases are among unvaccinated children, between the ages of 0 to 10. MDH states three adults have been infected, as well.

                              Forty-five of the cases are Somali-Minnesotan. One of the cases had one dose of the MMR vaccine and two cases involved kids with both doses of the vaccine. One case has an unknown vaccination status...
