      At least 350 measles cases so far in South Sudan outbreak
      JUBA (12 Apr.)

      There have been 350 clinically confirmed cases of measles in the last 12 weeks in South Sudan with 21 more suspected cases reported in Bentiu the last two weeks, UNICEF said.

      One person died in Bentiu in the last two weeks from the disease, the group said.

      UNICEF said a measles outbreak response is ongoing in Bentiu town and Rubkona targeting 29,000 children.

      "The burden of the suspected measles cases still falls on children under 5, accounting for 67 per cent of cases," UNICEF said...

        Yirol suffers outbreak of measles

        Residents of Yirol West Country are dealing with an outbreak of measles, according to the Eastern Lakes State Ministry of Health.

        The ministry reports that 25 patients were admitted to Yirol hospital between February and April of this year. In February ten people were admitted, and in April the number went up to 15...

          Sudan: 900 Measles Cases in 2016, Vaccination Campaign Starts Next Week

          Khartoum ? Between 1 January and 29 April 2016, out of 2,546 suspected cases with fever and rash, 907 were confirmed as measles (465 confirmed by laboratory and 442 epidemiologically linked to lab confirmed cases), according to the Sudanese Ministry of Health (MoH).

          According to the latest humanitarian bulletin by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), compared to the similar period of 2015, the numbers are considerably lower. During the same period of 2015, there were 4,131 suspected cases, of which 2,435 were confirmed as measles, according to WHOs' Weekly Measles Surveillance report...

            Measles cases rise in Warrap
            KUAJOK (26 Jul.)

            At least 5 people have died from measles and 280 cases have been reported in Warrap State, a local health official told Radio Tamazuj. Local health officials also say that there is a low turnout of children being vaccinated.

            ?In the whole of former Warrap state including Abyei many children have been infected and others have died of measles,? the Expanded Immunization Programme manager James Ngor Ayom told Radio Tamazuj.

            Ngor said that Twic has been vaccinated but has 85 suspected measles cases, and 42 cases with 2 deaths in Tonj South. In Gogrial West there are at least 61 cases, and Kuac South has at least 47 cases of measles with 3 deaths...

              Measles outbreak in Warrap State

              There has been an outbreak of measles continue in Warrap State dispite efforts to limit its spread, local hospital officials tell Radio Tamazuj.

              Officials have seen more than 280 suspected measles cases and 5 deaths from health facilities in Kuajok, Twic, Tonj South, Abyei and Gogrial.

                Three measles cases recorded at UN camp in Wau: official

                About three measles cases have been recorded at the United Nations Protection of Civilian?s Site (PoC) in Wau town, a local official said.

                James Okello Morgan, director general at the state ministry of health said in a press statement on Thursday that about three measles cases among children were recorded at the camp, saying health organizations confirmed an outbreak of measles inside the camp.

                  Children most affected by measles outbreak in Wau
                  JUBA (22 Dec.)

                  Health workers have discovered 40 suspected cases of measles in Wau, the capital of Western Bahr el Ghazal State, and nearby areas, reporting that the most affected people are children between the ages of 5 and 14.

                  The cases were reported between 5 and 11 December in Wau, Gogrial West and Aweil South.

                    Over 20 children die of measles in Nuba Mountains: official
