    Victoria has recorded its first measles case in two years after a Melbourne woman returned home from an overseas trip via regional NSW.

    The woman, aged in her 30s, had been holidaying in the UK and Italy before she developed symptoms of the highly infectious viral disease while in Albury on the Queen’s Birthday long weekend.

    She immediately sought medical attention, according to the Victorian Health Department....

    SYDNEY, Dec. 21 (Xinhua) -- Health authorities of the Australian state of Victoria on Wednesday reported a new measles case.

    A 41-year-old traveler who departed from India was infectious on Dec. 12 on a return flight from Bangkok of Thailand to Melbourne.

    The state's health department unveiled multiple public exposure sites the case had spent time in, with people who attended these sites urged to seek medical care if they develop symptoms, and to wear a mask and call ahead to ensure they can be isolated from others...

    Measles alert for Melbourne shopping strip

    A measles alert has been issued after a returned traveller with the disease visited a busy shopping strip and used public transport in Melbourne's north while infectious.

    The 41-year-old had been in India and arrived in Melbourne on Monday, December 12 on Thai Airways Flight TG 465 from Bangkok.

    The plane and Melbourne Airport International Arrivals terminal that morning are now exposure sites.

    The traveller then visited a popular shopping strip in Moonee Ponds over several days.

    Moonee Ponds Central, Woolworths, Aldi, Fresh on Young fruit shop and Umiyaki restaurant are exposure sites at certain times on December 12 and 13.

    Alerts for various trains and buses have also been issued for Monday, Tuesday and Friday of that week....
