    1 Confirmed Case of the Mumps at UNC

    A UNC student has a confirmed case of the mumps, the university said in an Alert Carolina message.

    Per the release, the dates the student may have been infectious were January 11 through the 18. The university added that the risk to the general population of contracting mumps from this student is low.

    Symptoms from exposure to this student could develop between January 23 through February 12, 2020. Individuals who have been in direct contact with the contagious student have been contacted directly by UNC...

    BOONE — AppHealthCare and Appalachian State University have confirmed three cases of mumps in ASU students who live off campus in Watauga County, according to a joint March 5 statement.

    All individuals diagnosed with the virus are being treated, and actions are in effect to minimize contact with the three individuals, per guidelines established by the state of North Carolina and the Centers for Disease Control, and they are fully cooperating in following isolation instructions, the statement indicated...
