    A child at the Pennsbury School District?s Pennwood Middle School appears to have come down with mumps.

    The school district released the news in a communication to parents and staff on Friday.

    Bucks County Health Director Dr. David Damsker told LevittownNow.com that the Pennwood student appears to have mumps, but his office is awaiting the lab results for final confirmation...

        As of today, the Philadelphia Health Department has 116 cases tied to the outbreak, which includes both students and non-students.

          As of Tuesday, there are 120 mumps cases related to the Temple University outbreak that began at the end of February.

          There are 18 confirmed cases and 102 probable cases, and 114 of those involve people living in Philadelphia with six cases in the surrounding suburbs, wrote Jim Garrow, the communications director of the Philadelphia Department of Public Health, on Tuesday.

          Last week, the university administered more than 4,800 mumps measles and rubella vaccines during two free vaccination clinics...

            There are still 18 confirmed cases, which hasn?t changed over the course of the week, and 112 probable cases, wrote Jim Garrow, the director of communications for the Philadelphia Department of Public Health, in an email to The Temple News.

                      The number of confirmed, active mumps cases at Temple University decreased to less than 10 as of Tuesday, Employee and Student Health Services reported.

                      Over the course of the past month, there?s been a steady decline of cases discovered on campus per week, from 46 in mid- to late March, which was the height of the outbreak, to seven discovered last week, wrote Mark Denys, director of Employee and Student Health Services in an email to the Temple community.

                      As of Tuesday, there were 154 total confirmed and probable cases of the mumps related to Temple, Denys wrote in an email to The Temple News.

                          Second case of mumps confirmed at Abington Senior High School

                          A second case of mumps at Abington Senior High School -- again affecting a student -- has been confirmed, principal Angelo Berrios said in a letter to parents Friday.

                          The discovery, two days after the first, has led the Montgomery County Office of Public Health to investigate the cases as an outbreak of the viral infection.

                          The first case affected an age-appropriately vaccinated student, Berrios said. He did not release details about the second student.
