Three elementary schools are affected by a cluster of chickenpox cases in Grant County, health officials report.

A chickenpox outbreak at Daybreak Primary School in Battle Ground will keep dozens of unvaccinated students home effective Monday.
There are five confirmed cases of varicella at the campus, Battle Ground Public Schools spokeswoman Rita Sanders said Friday.
Clark County Public Health requires that students and staff who are not fully immunized against the virus must stay home for three weeks beginning Monday, according to a letter sent to parents Thursday night. Those individuals will be allowed to return to campus Nov. 12...
Hoquiam High School Warns Parents After Some Students Contract Chickenpox

Administrators at Hoquiam High School are warning parents of chicken pox after a couple of students contracted the viral infection. A letter to parents said that most students are vaccinated but because a single vaccination is only 80-85% effective, some cases do occur.
