    Chickenpox claims five lives in Faisalabad

    FAISALABAD: Five people have died of chickenpox complications at the Allied Hospital during the last three weeks.

    According to information, six children are being treated at the hospital and there are reports of many cases in other hospitals of Faisalabad.

    Last year, 25 patients had been admitted to the Allied Hospital and one patient died of chickenpox in August.

    Official figures say that from Jan 1 to March 19, the Allied Hospital had received 17 patients. Six patients died of the disease this year, one left the hospital against the medical advice, four were discharged and six are still admitted...

    FAISALABAD-Two more chickenpox patients succumbed to the contagious disease here at Allied Hospital, taking the death toll to 14 in the current year so far.
    According to the hospital sources, both the patients - Mumtaz Bibi, 60, resident of Chiniot and Muhammad Asghar, a resident of Dijkot, died during the past 48 hours.
    They informed that 50 patients are still under treatment in the Allied Hospital.
    Another source informed that despite rising death toll from the disease, there is shortage of Chickenpox vaccine and other life saving drugs in the entire Faisalabad division...

      FAISALABAD: (Dunya News) ? Owing to chicken pox virus, 16 people have till Tuesday died and 84 are still under treatment. Two of these 84 are critical, reported Dunya News.

      So far in 2017, 16 people have died of chicken pox virus while 84 people are under treatment at Allied Hospital in Faisalabad.

      The worst part is that the hospital administration is vaccinating the staff members but they claim to have no vaccine available for the patients...

          LAHORE: At present only eight patients of chickenpox are under treatment in the province out of them five in Allied Hospital Faisalabad and three patients are admitted to Children Hospital Lahore.

            The city is grappling with chickenpox, a very contagious disease caused by the varicella-zoster virus (VZV), which has already taken a toll on dozens of lives in Allied Hospital alone.

            With two more deaths at Allied Hospital, a teaching hospital affiliated with Punjab Medical College, the number of victims has surged to 23 in Faisalabad while the death toll rose to 27 in the province.
