There were 240 suspected cases of scarlet fever recorded across Wales last month, new figures have revealed.
Public Health Wales says it is closely monitoring the high levels of the disease which typically affects children aged two to eight years old.
Scarlet fever is highly infectious and can be caught through direct contact with an infected person or through the air.
But there are encouraging signs that overall infection rates may be easing after figures dropped from the 317 recorded in March...
