    NEW PALTZ - Letters were sent home to parents of New Paltz Middle School students on Tuesday after the district received a report of a second possible case of mumps, said New Paltz Superintendent Maria Rice.

    "I don't know who or how, or whether it's a he or a she, but I wanted to notify parents as soon as I found out," Rice said...

      Geneseo Central School reports one mumps case

      Geneseo Central Schools alerts district families that there has been one reported case of mumps at Geneseo Central School.

      Nearby SUNY Geneseo now confirms 19 cases. Of these, 12 are off-campus students and 7 are on-campus students. The College does say that there are no further ?possible? cases, where students are exhibiting symptoms and awaiting test results...

        Over 60 Cases of Mumps at SUNY New Paltz

        ...In their last update of 2016, the SUNY New Paltz Student Health Service confirmed 60 cases of the mumps on campus, including one staff member and several members of the swim team.

        According to the New York State Department of Health, there have been 63 confirmed or probable cases of mumps at SUNY New Paltz since October...

        ...According to the state health department, there have been 147 confirmed cases of mumps across the state this year, up from 24 in 2015.

            There have been no new cases of mumps among SUNY Geneseo students since the beginning of the semester.

            The number of students diagnosed with the highly-contagious virus peaked at 26 on Jan. 11. Class resumed Jan. 17 after winter break.

              SUNY Geneseo is dealing with another case of mumps. The university saw an outbreak last fall, although there had been no new cases since classes resumed last month, until this latest case that was confirmed Thursday.

              Officials say it involves someone living on campus. That brings the total number of cases up to 26 since the outbreak began...

                After state review, SUNY Geneseo mumps cases back to zero

                The number of mumps cases at SUNY Geneseo since the beginning of the semester has been reset at zero.

                The state Department of Health ruled during the weekend that after reviewing additional information associated with the most recently reported case of mumps, that the case does not meet the ?case definition? for the infection.

                With the ruling, SUNY Geneseo does not have any cases of mumps on campus and unvaccinated students have been allowed to return to the college. There are no other cases currently awaiting diagnosis...

                            SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The number of Syracuse University students diagnosed with mumps has jumped from two to eight to now 14, officials said.

                            SU's Office of Health Services emailed students, staff and faculty Sept. 21 to say two SU students had been diagnosed with mumps. At the time, the university said it was working closely with the Onondaga County Health Department to monitor the situation, and expected students to make a full recovery within a few weeks.

                                The number of confirmed mumps infections at Syracuse University jumped from 13 to 22 in the last two days, according to the university?s Office of Health Services.

                                There are five probable cases in addition to the 22 that are confirmed.

                                All students that have contracted the disease have been properly vaccinated, according to the health services website.

                                Students diagnosed with or suspected of contracting the disease are being isolated from the campus community for up to five days.

                                Some of the students with confirmed or suspected mumps cases are being housed in hotels, including the Sheraton Syracuse University Hotel & Conference Center, an SU spokesperson confirmed...
