A staff member at Prescott Elementary School and a student at Thomas Jefferson Middle School have been diagnosed with mumps, marking the third confirmed case of the disease in Dubuque schools in the last two weeks.
Around the county, there have been a total of five diagnosed cases of mumps so far, according to Patrice Lambert, executive director of the Dubuque County Health Department...

DUBUQUE, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- Dubuque school officials say skipping the measles, mumps and rubella or MMR vaccine is not to blame for the recent spread of mumps.

So far this school year, doctors diagnosed 16 students and four staff members with mumps. A total of 32 people in Dubuque County have had the illness. That accounts for half the cases in the entire state...

DUBUQUE, Iowa (AP) - Health officials are puzzled by an outbreak of the mumps among Dubuque County students that has now climbed to 30 cases, which is more than one-third of all cases statewide.
According to Dubuque County Health Department executive director Patrice Lambert, the source of the outbreak has not yet been determined. Lambert says this is the worst outbreak in 10 years in the county...
