    SPRINGFIELD ? Menard Correctional Center is on lockdown because of an outbreak of chickenpox.

    The maximum security prison in Chester, home to more than 3,700 of the state's most dangerous inmates, reported five inmates who have been diagnosed with the highly contagious virus.

    Illinois Department of Corrections spokesman Tom Shaer said three of the cases have been resolved. Two inmates remain in isolation...

    PINCKNEYVILLE, ILL. ? A prison in southern Illinois is on partial lockdown while awaiting test results for two inmates who may have chickenpox.

    Authorities say it's the second state prison this week where inmates are in isolation as a precaution to prevent chickenpox from spreading.
