    County officials quarantined at least nine inmates Tuesday in response to a mumps outbreak at the San Mateo County jail, which is now causing court delays, officials said Wednesday.

    Some San Mateo County Jail inmates are under quarantine today after one fell ill Tuesday with a possible case of mumps, a county health official said this morning.

      Health officials on Thursday lifted a quarantine of 125 San Mateo County jail inmates after state lab results showed three of them were not infected with the mumps.
