    Pulapol declared free of Adenovirus

LABIS (April 3, 2011): The Police Training Centre (Pulapol) in Kuala Lumpur has been declared free of Adenovirus, Health Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said.
He said there were no new infections detected at the centre since March 19.

Liow, however, reminded the centre's management to maintain a high level of cleanliness at all time to ensure there would be no recurrence of the infection.

Three police trainees succumbed to the infection last month while hundreds of others were quarantined.

The ten quarantined trainees are made up of three male trainee constables, four male trainee inspectors and three female trainee inspectors, he told reporters after the trainees returned to Pulapol here Saturday.

He said 1,963 trainee constables and inspectors were expected to return for training after they were told to break camp by health authorities for a clean-up operation at Pulapol after three trainees died of adenovirus...
