    2 new swine flu cases in Egypt brings number infected up to 10

    CAIRO ? The spokesman of Egypt's health minister says two more people have tested positive for swine flu bringing the total number of those infected in the country to 10.

    Abdel Rahman Shahine said Wednesday that the two new patients are Egyptians recently returned from the United States. He added that the two have been hospitalized in Cairo and Alexandria.

    A student dorm of the American University in Cairo has been placed under quarantine through June 15 after seven Americans were diagnosed with swine flu on Saturday.

    A 12-year Egyptian-American girl returning from the United States was diagnosed with flu on June 2. She has since recovered.

    Egypt's government earlier slaughtered the nation's 300,000 pigs to prevent the spread of the disease.

    Health announced a new swine flu, Maadi


    CAIRO - Editor Masrawy - Dr. Abdel Rahman Shahin, spokesman of the Ministry of Health on a new HIV infection (1, 1 H), known as swine flu, bringing the number of cases to 11 cases.

            CAIRO, June 12 (Xinhua) -- Egyptian health authorities announced on Friday three new cases of A/H1N1 flu, bringing the number of such cases to 15 in the populous Arab country, Nile TV reported.

            Two Egyptian citizens and one Syrian arrived from Canada, Sweden and the United States respectively were detected at Cairo airport, the TV station reported.

            They were hospitalized in Abasia Hospital where they received Tumiflu and their conditions were stable.

            Earlier on Thursday, Egypt reported the 12th case of an Egyptian-American child, one year and six months old.

            On June 2, Egypt reported its first A/H1N1 influenza case, who was a 12-year-old Egyptian-American girl coming from the United States via the Netherlands.

            Egypt reported seven A/H1N1 flu cases at a dorm of the American University in Cairo (AUC) and the health ministry quarantined the dorm, which accommodates 110 students and 124 teachers, for seven days.

            Egypt, the most populous Arab country that was hit hard by the fatal bird flu in 2006, decided in late April to cull all the pigs in the country to stem the highly infectious flu.

              total to eighteen there is no way at this point the general public has not come down with a single case yet. im not buying this either is the other locals i spoke with sofar.

                              فى سياق متصل، عزلت سلطات الحجر الصحى بمطار القاهرة الدولى أمس الجمعة ١٢ راكباً مصرياً للاشتباه فى إصابتهم بأنفلونزا الخنازير بعد اكتشاف ارتفاع حرارة بعضهم لدى وصولهم من الخارج، بينما تم حجز أمين شرطة فى أمن المطار لنفس السبب،

                              بينما ساد التوتر وسط العاملين بالمطار بعد رفع درجة الطوارئ إلى السادسة وانتشرت ظاهرة ارتداء الكمامات الواقية وقل تواجد العاملين بالصالات إلا فى حالات الضرورة، كما زادت ظاهرة ارتداء الأقنعة الواقية وسط الركاب المسافرين والقادمين، ووسط المترددين من مودعين ومستقبلين.

                              وأكد الدكتور حسن شعبان، مدير الحجر الصحى بالمطار، أنه أثناء فحص ركاب الطائرة السعودية رقم ٥٠٢ القادمة من جدة، تبين ارتفاع حرارة الطفلة رنا أحمد إبراهيم ?٩ سنوات? فتم عزلها وأسرتها المكونة من والدها أحمد ووالدتها ريهام سمير وأخواتها ريم ورويدة ورضوى بصفتهم مخالطين لها،

                              كما تم عزل الطفلة خلود حسن عبدالعال ?٩ سنوات? بعد اكتشاف ارتفاع درجة حرارتها لدى وصولها على رحلة مصر للطيران رقم ٩١٣ القادمة من دبى، وعزل أسرتها المكونة من والدها ووالدتها صباح منوفى ?٣٤ سنة? وإخوتها وليد ووسام وضحى بصفتهم مخالطين، ونقلهم داخل سيارات إسعاف إلى مستشفى الحميات بالعباسية لإجراء التحاليل اللازمة للتأكد من طبيعة الأنفلونزا.

                              وقال شعبان ?فى إطار متابعة حالة العاملين بالمطار تبين معاناة أمينى شرطة بإدارة الجوازات، الأول صبرى عبدالمنعم، والثانى طارق الجميل، من ارتفاع درجة حرارتهما وتم عزلهما ونقلهما إلى المستشفى أيضاً?.

                              وأضاف مدير الحجر الصحى: ?لا توجد أى إجراءات استثنائية على الركاب بالمطار بعد رفع منظمة الصحة العالمية درجة الطوارئ إلى السادسة، حيث تتواصل الإجراءات المشددة التى تم تطبيقها من قبل لمتابعة وفحص الركاب القادمين من الخارج خاصة الدول الموبوءة التى حددتها منظمة الصحة العالمية حالياً بـ٧٤ دولة?

                              لافتاً إلى أنه ?تم أمس فحص ٨٢١١ راكباً وصلوا على ٦٦ رحلة طيران، ورغم عدم وجود حالات مرضية وسط الركاب فإنه تم الحصول على بياناتهم كاملة تمهيداً لبدء مراقبتهم صحياً لمدة ١٠ أيام بمقار إقامتهم بالتعاون مع مديريات الصحة التابعين لها?.

                              وأكد مصدر دبلوماسى باسم وزارة الخارجية أن الوزارة تتابع على أعلى المستويات تطورات الموقف وفقاً لما أعلنته منظمة الصحة العالمية حول تحول مرض أنفلونزا الخنازير إلى وباء عالمى، وقال لـ?المصرى اليوم? فى رده على سؤال حول وجود خطط للوزارة للتعامل مع الموقف: نظام العمل موجود وقائم وليس هناك داع لتغييره.

                              وحول ما إذا كانت وزارة الخارجية توصى المصريين المسافرين للخارج بإرجاء سفرهم، أوضح زكى أنه تجرى حالياً دراسة جميع التوصيات.

                              وأشار زكى إلى أنه حتى الآن لم يقم أحمد أبوالغيط، وزير الخارجية، أو أى من المسؤولين فى الوزارة بإلغاء أى لقاءات قد تحددت من قبل مع مسؤولين من دول أخرى، موضحاً فى الوقت ذاته أن الخارجية لم تتلق أى اعتذارات من جانب مسؤولين فى الدول الأخرى فى الإطار نفسه. -------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------
