Egypt - Report of Woman, 28, infected with bird flu in Beheira govenorate

This for the governorate number 17 'Beheira Governorate (Arabic: 'البحيرة) Translates to (The lake)

This is clearly a case of bird flu based on the language in both the Arabic via youm7.com and English translation of this article.

please note the process mentioned for testing all close contacts of the Lady's.
and her placement in a fever hospital

The last confirmed case of h5n1 infection was from the same governorate. the case was a twenty five year old female which was confirmed as case number 114 by the mohp.

I think this is a new case of h5n1 infection.

Re: Egypt - 'Beheira Governorate, 28 year old "Lady of the lake" infected with bird flu.

It is hard to say if this is a different case.

This article which describes case #114, as identified by the Beheira governorate authorities, does not detail the hospital.

These could be the same case. Not sure at this time.

via gate.ahram.org.eg article link below. Note the comments below about testing of poultry I suspect this is a new case.

The results of the analysis of samples taken from Fethiye Mohamed Abdel-Maksoud (48 years old, housewife) in Kafr El-Kom Hamada Salamon status of the lake from being infected with swine influenza virus, while the analysis has confirmed the injury Sherine Mahmoud Shahat (28 years old, housewife) avian influenza virus in Damanhur.

this person has been reported to the who as case # 114

the first report of case number 114 mentioned and listed the age and sex as being a 25 year old female.

this is why i suspected this person as being another new case of infection.

the age is what made me question/think this was another case.

Re: Egypt - Ministry of Health: Discovery of case No. 114 to bird flu in Egypt.

the mohp shows case 114 still under going treatment within the hospital as of the report for 29th, December. which was published today.

the who update number 39 indicates, they case 114 were released from the hospital on the 25th, December.

no new suspect cases were added to governorate 17, the status remained the same since prior to the who published report number 39.

something seems out of line currently,
