    The emohp has released a report which covers two days for the 7th and 8th Of March 2010.

    This report contains two new confirmed positive cases which moves the total cases of infection for h5n1 since 2006 to a total of 106.

    both of the new cases were added to the report on the the seventh both of which are shown as being hospitilized one in the cairo governorate and the other in the Kafr el-Sheikh Governorate (Arabic: كفر الشيخ‎)

    The total suspect cases two date was also increadsed by 11 to 11,531.

    Avian influenza - situation in Egypt - update 32

    12 March 2010 -- The Ministry of Health of Egypt has announced two new cases of human H5N1 avian influenza infection.



    The first case is a 20 year-old pregnant female from El Khanka district, Qaliobia Governorate. She was hospitalized on 5 March where she received oseltamivir treatment and died on 9 March.


    The second case is a 1 and a half year-old male from Elhamool district, Kfr Elsheikh Governorate. He was hospitalized on 2 March, where he received oseltamivir treatment. He is in a stable condition.



    Investigations into the source of infection indicated that the two cases had exposure to sick and dead poultry.



    The cases were confirmed by the Egyptian Central Public Health Laboratories, a National Influenza Center of the WHO Global Influenza Surveillance Network (GISN).



    Egyptian authorities have also reported the death of a previously announced case; the 53 year-old male from Shobra Elkhima district, Qaliobia Governorate who developed symptoms on 27 February.



    Of the 106 laboratory confirmed cases of Avian influenza A(H5N1) reported in Egypt, 32 have been fatal.

        The mohp has released the report Thur the 13th march 2010.

        the total suspect case total has increased to 11,541 with two new suspect cases being added for 13th of march and they are listed under two governorates.

        the total cumulative deaths remained at 32
        the total cumulative cases recovered remained at 73
        the total cumulative positive cases since 2006 is 106 with nine governorates showing no positive cases to date.

        case number 106 is still listed as undergoing hospital treatment as of today.

        case number 106 is from governorate number 23 Kafr el-Sheikh Governorate (Arabic: كفر الشيخ‎) the current statistics for this area are.A total cumulative suspect case total of 1,132 To date with a total positive case count of 11 with one death shown and two cases of recovery. case 106 is currently hospitalized,

          the total suspect case number has increased to 11,543 with two new suspect cases being added thru the 15th of march.

          the total cumulative deaths remained at 32
          the total cumulative cases recovered remained at 73

            we have a new report today from the mohp dated for the 17th march.Its add only three new suspect cases from the 16th and two for the 17th of march
            none of which are being shown as a positive case.

            case 106 remains undergoing hospital treatment.

            the cumulative suspect case total since 2006 is currently 11,548

              we have a new report today from the mohp dated for the 19th march.Its adds only four new suspect cases.one from the 18th and three for the 19th of march

              none of which are being shown as a positive case.

              case 106 is now shown as a case of recovery.

              the cumulative suspect case total since 2006 is currently 11,552

                all statistics remain the same no new suspect cases were added for the 20th
