  • Egypt - "Health" Reports case number 100 for H5N1.

The ministry of health released data today Thur the 16th of February 2010
it contains the first bit of publicly available information for case number 100 the case is for the following governorate listed below.

based on the current ministry report case number 100 was reported prior to the 16th and some time after the 13th

    21 Dakahlia governorate (Arabic: الدقهلية‎)

These are the current statistics for the Governorate as on the 16th

1,121 total suspect cases from 2006 with nine total positive cases thus far, 2deaths total have been reported, 1 case of recovery and one currently undergoing treatment within the hospital.

I can tell from the report they tested a total of three people in the governorate since the 13th and prior to the 16th with one being positive and resulting in case number 100

for the 16th they added only two new suspect cases to the total which has reached 11,470 total suspect cases since 2006

It now appears like they have really refined their methods and protocols for selection and further testing of suspects.

two others remain undergoing treatment in the Cairo governorate.
