WHO has only reported 3 cases for 2017. There were 10 cases confirmed for 2016. Maybe the official is confusing the years?

        Friday, 29 September 2017 1:41 PM

MP Nusaila Abu Al-Omro, a member of the House of Representatives for the province of Sharkia, said that she will submit a request to the Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Abdel-Moneim El-Banna, and the head of the Veterinary Medicine Authority, to know the government's plan to protect the poultry wealth from epidemic diseases especially avian flu as the winter season approaches.

A member of the lower house of parliament from Sharkia province said in remarks to the "seventh day" that last year the Ministry of Agriculture caused the loss of a large wealth of domestic wealth, namely the veterinary medicine, because of the lack of strong steps to prevent the spread of bird flu.

Nusaila Abu Al-Omro called for the need to carry out intensive national campaigns to raise awareness of the dangers of bird flu and the risks of its transmission from birds to humans, so as not to be exposed to what happened last year, and without significant losses in the lives of citizens.
