Two New Confirmed Human Cases of H5N1 avian influenza virus infections

The Egyptian Ministry of Health announces two additional human cases of bird flu in its latest update published on April 8 2011.
The update reports also two fatalities among previously confirmed cases.
With respect an earlier report (April 4 2011), the cumulative number of confirmed human bird flu cases has increased by two, as well as fatalities.
The figures are the following:
-- Cumulative Number of Confirmed Human Bird Flu Cases In Egypt (since 2006): 142 (*)
-- Cumulative Number of Fatal Cases (since 2006): 47 (**)
-- Patients discharged from hospital after recovery: 92 (***)
The most recent World Health Organization update (http://www.who.int/csr/don/2011_04_06/en/index.html ), showed the following figures:
(*) Confirmed cases (since 2006): 137
(**) Cumulative Number of Deaths: 45
The ministry of health reported on April 4 (***)(http://www.flutrackers.com/forum/sho...d.php?t=165667 ), 90 patients currently hospitalized, 140 confirmed cases since 2006, and 45 fatalities.
Since the start of 2011, Egypt notified to the WHO (April 6 2011)(http://www.who.int/csr/disease/avian.../en/index.html ), 18 H5N1 human cases with 5 deaths.
