Poultry Division: High temperatures increase the percentage of losses and high price of chicks

The poultry division in the Cairo Chamber of Commerce warned that a large number of investors in the poultry sector are out of the market as a result of the losses they are currently experiencing, pointing out that rising temperatures exacerbates the crisis among breeders and makes the percentage of losses high, .


Dr. Abdul Aziz al-Sayed, head of the poultry division in the Chamber of Commerce, said that there is a significant loss of "breeders" as a result of high production costs in addition to the spread of epidemic diseases that provided significant losses in addition to the high temperatures lead to an increase in the loss of farms.


He added that the prices of poultry moved on farms recorded 23 pounds per kilo and the consumer is between 27 to 28 pounds per kilo and eggs register 32 pounds for the carton "White" and the consumer reaches 37 pounds and the red egg cartons 33 pounds at the farm and the consumer reaches 39 EGP.


The head of the division pointed out that the impact of educators and investors from the sector of poultry wealth will show its impact after Eid al-Adha because the turnout in the coming days will be much less because of the purchase of meat sacrifice.

And on the prices of chicks, the head of the Poultry Division for the "seventh day," the price of kilo farm delivery rose one pound to 22 pounds and reach the consumer between 26 to 27 pounds by region, pointing out that the market needs more discipline during the coming period .
He pointed out that the market needs to work a real poultry stock market, stressing that the mechanisms to implement a real poultry stock market exists with the Ministry of Agriculture and not producers .
He pointed out that if the Bird Exchange is activated, the production costs will be published daily, and an information network will be provided for mothers of birds, fattening and whites. The stock market will also include a statement of feed prices and eggs to spread the real cost on the ground to cope with rising prices of chicks. It is noteworthy that the prices of poultry and eggs have declined in the dealings yesterday between pounds to one and a half pounds, as stated by the head of the Poultry Division and the price of kilo for white chicks delivered a farm of 21 pounds and the consumer reaches 25 pounds per kilo.

The Directorate of Veterinary Medicine succeeded in coordinating with the Directorate of Supply and Internal Trade in controlling the biggest cases of commercial fraud in a large campaign on refrigerators, Rotten poultry before delivery to one of the famous restaurants in Cairo.


The campaign resulted in the seizure of a refrigerator for the packing, processing, storage and packing of poultry in bags of special massacres, including closed massacres for more than a year.

The campaign was able to control about 2 tons of poultry unsuitable for human consumption in one of the refrigerators in the east of Shubra al-Kheima, one of the most famous restaurants in Cairo.
