Local media reported on Sunday that a 27-year-old man had been quarantined at a hospital in Ho Chi Minh City after returning from Africa with symptoms of Ebola.
The online newspaper VnExpress reported that a man from Binh Thuan province arrived at the Tan Son Nhat international airport on February 11 with Ebola symptoms, including dry cough and high fever. He was later transferred to the Ho Chi Minh City Tropical Diseases for observation and quarantine. According to the report, the patient worked in Sierra Leone as a photographer.
The man is undergoing treatment as a tuberculosis patient. Doctors in Sierra Leone initially diagnosed his disease as pneumonia.
