The death toll from storm ?Juaning? has reached 50 while the estimated damage to properties amount of damages to infrastructure and agriculture was placed at P1.4 billion, the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (NDRRMC) said Saturday.
NDRRMC Executive Director Benito Ramos said that the 50 fatalities came from the following regions: Region 3 ? 1 fatality; Region 4 (A) ? 4; Region IV (B) ? 1; Region V ? 36; Region VI ? 1; Region VII ? 1; NCR ? 1; and CAR ? 5.
?The Bicol region posted the highest number of casualties, with 36 fatalities ? 14 in Albay; Catanduanes, 6; Camarines Sur, 5; Camarines Norte, 7; Masbate, 2; and Sorsogon, 2,? he said.
It was also reported that 25 persons are still missing and are presently the subject for search and retrival operations by the NDRRMC member agencies. The missing victims came from Region IV (B) ? 1; Region V ? 22; and Region VIII ? 2
