This reads like a science fiction novel but the credentials of the laboratories involved are very credible.
I have a few questions:
How do they know this is the first time that the Gulf Stream Loop current has ever broken down anywhere along the current? How far back does their "past years data" go?
If it is not the first time, then what have been the natural forces that have restored the current?
When is their next report on this issue published?
