This is a video update about Boss. Unfortunately, his skull was found to be fractured and he has been transferred to a specialty hospital. Witnesses have come forward and said they saw a logging truck hit Boss. The woman who found him is very upset and cries when she tells about gently laying him in the police car.

CORRIGAN, Texas (KTRE) - Police and Polk County Animal Control are on the lookout for an escaped Capuchin monkey in Corrigan. The support animal got away from its owner at a Corrigan Dollar General store after she bought it some water. Store manager Lawrence Jolly saw the situation unfold.

The name of the monkey is “Boss” and he is a seven-month-old support animal currently in training. Jolly says Boss took off into the woods behind the store, still wearing a white diaper it had been given by the owner...

POLK COUNTY, Texas (KTRE) - According to the mayor of Corrigan, a missing monkey has been found.

When officers responded, Boss was bleeding a bit from his nose, his eyes were closed, and he was very thin, Gibson said. The officer wrapped him in a towel and put water into his mouth. The monkey then opened his eyes, she said.

Officers took him via patrol car with lights and sirens to the Arena Veterinary Clinic, Gibson said. The owner met them there....
The story reports that the clinic veterinarian expects that Boss will recover. He was lucky not to be a CDC research monkey.
