    On May 15, 2022, there will be a lunar eclipse that will be visible throughout the U.S. and much of North America and all of South America. A lunar eclipse is when Earth passes between the Sun and the Moon, darkening the Moon.

    The total eclipse will begin at 8:29 pm PDT, transition to a partial eclipse at 9:54 pm PDT and fully conclude at 10:56 pm PDT.

    Andrew Fraknoi, who serves on the SETI Institute’s Board of Trustees, is a retired astronomer, textbook author and college professor, has developed a basic information sheet about the eclipse that you can download below: ...
