India's 1st solar water project in Nagaland

KOHIMA: Nagaland minister for public health engineering department Noke Wangnao inaugurated an innovative water technology project ? solar-powered water treatment unit ? at Tsiesema village near Kohima on Friday. Nagaland is the first state in the country to set up the unique technology.

The system removes up to 99.99 % bacteria from water selectively without hampering other elements and taste. It is a fully automated, solar-operated water treatment unit with very low power consumption and operating costs. The capacity of the system is 6000l per day.
