    The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:

    The spokesperson of Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH) made the following announcement today (July 28):

    A total of four infants (three male and one female, aged two months to seven months) of the paediatrics and adolescent medicine ward of PMH had presented with fever, cough and runny nose since July 24.

    Appropriate viral tests were arranged for the patients.
    The test results for three of them were positive for Respiratory Syncytial Virus while one is pending.

    They are being treated under isolation in the Infectious Disease Centre. All children are in stable condition.

    Infection control measures at the ward concerned have already been escalated and all patients are under close medical surveillance. The hospital has contacted the parents of the index patients. The case has been reported to the Hospital Authority and the Centre for Health Protection for necessary follow up.
