    According to reports, since March, the number of children with colds, fever and common pneumonia has increased significantly, and the pediatric outpatient clinic receives an average of 600 to 700 cases per day.



    Lin Guangyu, director of the Children's Hospital of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Shantou University School of Medicine, said: "Most of the cases are respiratory infections, accounting for about 80%.     The doctor reminded that during this period, if the child has shortness of breath, frequent cough, high fever exceeding 39°C for more than 3 consecutive days, and apathy, it may be suffering from pneumonia and should go to the hospital as soon as possible. It should be noted that more than 85% of children's upper respiratory tract infections are viral infections. Some parents think that children should take antibiotics as soon as they have a fever, such as cephalosporins. In fact, they are wrong.     "From simple upper respiratory tract infection to bronchitis, bronchitis and even pneumonia, the incidence of a series of respiratory diseases is very high during this time period.
