Nandu News reporter Li Rong, an Indian teacher from Shenzhen International School, is still out of danger due to severe pneumonia. Nandu reporter just learned from On the morning of January 11, 2020, Shenzhen Shekou People's Hospital admitted a female patient, a 41-year-old Indian, and a teacher of an international school in Shenzhen. The patient had a cough for 1 week, fever for 2 days, and severe respiratory failure occurred after admission.

At 16:00 on January 11, the patient was transferred to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Nanshan People's Hospital. The hospital immediately organized multidisciplinary consultations such as infectious diseases and respiratory medicine, and invited experts from Shenzhen Third People's Hospital for consultations, considering severe pneumonia and acute respiratory distress syndrome, secondary to acute renal failure, diffuse intravascular coagulation, and liver damage. At present, the patient's lung oxygenation has improved and the patient's condition has stabilized after being actively rescued by the hospital's ICU.

According to Nanshan People's Hospital, patient samples tested by the Shenzhen Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Nanshan District Center for Disease Control and Prevention have ruled out influenza, human infection with avian influenza, SARS, and Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS), and excluded new coronavirus infections.

According to the epidemiological investigation of the Nanshan District Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the patient had been living and working in Shenzhen before the onset of the illness. He had not been to other places and had not come into contact with similar patients. None of the patients' relatives, colleagues, friends, and teachers and students of the school where they were teaching had similar cases. The case is not associated with a recent unexplained pneumonia outbreak reported in Wuhan.
