Abandoned plant kidney transplant transaction continued: Two hospitals involved were investigated by local health department

Beijing News (Reporter Li Yingqiang) On May 8th, the Beijing News published the "Kidney Transplant Deal in an Abandoned Factory: Buying 550,000 Kidneys, Selling Kidneys for Only 45,000", which exclusively reported that the police in Xinhe County, Hebei Province had lost Of illegal kidney transplant trading gangs. In the kidney transplantation chain, anesthetist Liu Liming came from Century Union Hospital in Baoding City, Hebei Province; after the operation, the kidney receptor was sent to Renji Urology Hospital (hereinafter referred to as "Renji Hospital") in Yantai City, Shandong Province. On May 11, a reporter from the Beijing News learned that the health departments of the two hospitals had intervened in the investigation.
According to the person in charge of the Office of Baoding Century Concord Hospital, after the Xinhe County police removed the above gang at the end of November 2018, Liu Liming ’s family once asked Liu Liming for leave for one month on the hospital ’s behalf. The indictment of the Xinhe County Procuratorate in this case showed that on November 30, 2018, Liu Liming was criminally detained by the Xinhe County Public Security Bureau on suspicion of organizing the sale of human organs and was transferred to bail pending trial on December 28 of the same year.

After verification, during his tenure in the hospital, Liu Liming used his spare time to participate in illegal kidney transplants outside the hospital, and has been dealt with by the judicial authority.
