Yesterday was the fifth World Rabies Day, this year's theme is "to act together to make rabies history." Latest from the Shanghai Municipal Health Department statistics show that: Over the past three years, the city's dog bites each year nearly 12 million people; the city from January to August this year, cases of rabies were reported in 6 cases (including two human cases of field visits to Shanghai, and the remaining 4 cases of local cases), while last year only 1 case. Rabies is caused by the rabies virus acute human zoonotic infectious diseases. People once the disease is currently no effective clinical treatment, almost 100% death. Re: Rabies is spreading in China's cities

It seems to me that if the rabies problem is so bad in dogs - and it is legal to serve dog meat to humans in restaurants - then there should be some testing to determine if the meat is infected with rabies. I have not seen anything about routine the testing of meat for rabies. Maybe this is the problem?

Not dog bites, but the lack of testing before preparation and consumption? Contact with infected blood would probably spread rabies to humans.
