Beijing requires companies to actively avoid importing cold chain foods from severely affected areas

Beijing News Express According to the website of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Commerce, since the epidemic, foreign food companies have been experiencing cluster infections of new crown pneumonia. At the same time, my country's customs and local governments have repeatedly detected positive new crown virus nucleic acids in imported cold chain foods. Prove that imported cold-chain foods are indeed at risk of contamination. In order to further strengthen our city’s import enterprises to improve their awareness of preventing imported cold chain food from the new coronavirus, the relevant import and export enterprises are hereby notified to focus on the following tasks:

    1. Pay close attention to the development and changes of overseas epidemics, and keep abreast of the State Council's joint prevention and control work mechanism, the State General Administration of Customs and other departments' restrictions on the suspension of import declarations of this type of cold chain food in key epidemic areas.

    2. All relevant enterprises shall strengthen prevention and control from overseas sources, take the initiative to avoid importing cold chain food from areas with severe epidemics, and actively take effective measures to make various alternative plans for imported food.

    3. All relevant enterprises should strengthen the management of imported cold chain foods, and establish and improve the early warning and reporting mechanism for preventing the import of new coronaviruses. If cold chain foods are found to be positive for the new coronavirus nucleic acid after entering the country, they should report to the relevant departments as soon as possible.
