China - Drug resistant pneumonia case rediagnosed as scrub typhus in Suqian City, Jiangsu province - October 31, 2016
A woman was hospitalized and initially diagnosed with pneumonia but she did not respond to drug therapy. Her symptoms were sudden high fever, significant headache, malaise, shortness of breath, and rapid progression. Upon further exam an eschar was found in her armpit area which could indicate a bite.
