China - Reporters document unsanitary bathroom conditions at some Beijing hospitals - September 18, 2016
Reporters have posted comments and some pictures of unsanitary conditions at some Beijing hospitals. There is some discussion about quarantined bathrooms(maybe for e.coli ?) not being properly marked so that other patients and visitors use those bathrooms. Some hospitals lack toilet paper and/or hand wash gels/sanitizers. Another complaint is that urine samples are left to be collected in the bathrooms while still open for use by other patients.
I posted this not so much for the health story but because it is unique for several reporters to post a health expose involving many hospitals. I wonder what is going on. Maybe the central government is losing a bit of their 100% control of the media. It is a crime to write or publish anything that might upset "social order". This generally includes everything.
Bathrooms at large Beijing hospitals have been criticized throughout the years, but this report seems a little more organized and serious.
