According to the Henan Provincial Forestry Bureau (884004) , in order to comprehensively improve the emergency response capabilities for terrestrial wildlife disease outbreaks and effectively safeguard ecological security, Anyang City organized a city-wide emergency drill for the prevention and control of terrestrial wildlife diseases at the Qixi River National Wetland Park in Linzhou on May 20.
This exercise combined indoor simulation with outdoor drills. The indoor simulation focused on specialized training in areas such as daily monitoring and patrolling of terrestrial wildlife disease outbreaks, analysis and handling of abnormal situations, and wildlife rescue. Emphasis was placed on key aspects such as monitoring, early warning, response, and public awareness campaigns to comprehensively strengthen risk prevention and response capabilities.
The outdoor drill simulated the entire process of handling abnormally dead wild animals discovered by staff during routine monitoring. The drill included immediately reporting to the local forestry (884004) authority and sequentially completing a series of measures such as isolation and alert, sampling and testing, area lockdown, protective disinfection, harmless disposal, and epidemic trend assessment.
This exercise comprehensively tested the city's emergency response, collaborative operations, and scientific handling capabilities in the event of a sudden outbreak of terrestrial wildlife disease. Moving forward, Anyang City will continue to strengthen its prevention and control responsibilities, optimize prevention and control procedures, and enhance team building to improve its emergency response capabilities for sudden outbreaks, safeguarding regional ecological security and the public health security of the people with solid prevention and control results.
