On the afternoon of April 21, the Third People's Hospital of Hengyang City conducted a joint emergency drill involving multiple departments in the South Outpatient Area to simulate a sudden power outage and information system crash.
Rednet News, April 22 (Correspondent Zhang Shulin) – To further improve the hospital's emergency response system and ensure the smooth operation of medical services and patient safety in case of emergencies, Hengyang Third People's Hospital conducted a joint emergency drill involving multiple departments in the South Outpatient Area on the afternoon of April 21, simulating a sudden power outage and information system crash.
This drill closely simulated a real-world scenario, depicting a sudden power outage and a complete system crash in the outpatient area. Upon receiving the warning, the hospital's emergency command center immediately activated its emergency plan. Relevant departments, including the South Outpatient Department, Information Technology Department, Logistics and Security Department, Laboratory Department, Pharmacy, Cashier's Office, and Medical Affairs Department, responded swiftly and coordinated their efforts. During the drill, the Logistics and Security Department quickly activated backup power to ensure emergency lighting and power supply to critical equipment; the Information Technology Department immediately began troubleshooting and emergency repairs; and the outpatient department, cashier's office, and pharmacy simultaneously initiated manual consultation, payment, and medication dispensing processes, while also communicating with patients and providing emotional support. All aspects were seamlessly integrated and handled according to standardized procedures, resulting in a highly efficient and orderly process.
This drill comprehensively tested the practicality and operability of the hospital's power outage and system failure emergency plan, effectively improving the multi-departmental coordinated response, rapid handling, and risk management capabilities. Moving forward, the hospital will use this drill as an opportunity to establish a routine emergency drill mechanism, continuously optimize emergency plans and procedures, and constantly strengthen the foundation of medical safety, providing the public with safer, more efficient, and stable medical services.
