Chengdu Southwest Brain Hospital organized Chikungunya fever related knowledge learning and emergency drills

The number of mosquitoes increases in summer. If you experience symptoms such as high fever, rash, joint swelling and pain after being bitten by a mosquito, you should be alert to Chikungunya fever.
In order to effectively respond to the high risk of mosquito-borne infectious diseases in summer and comprehensively improve our hospital's emergency response capabilities to the Chikungunya fever epidemic, our hospital carried out relevant knowledge learning throughout the hospital on August 6 (Wednesday) and conducted a Chikungunya fever emergency response drill this morning.
The drill simulated the reception of a young male patient who returned to Chengdu from other places. The guide doctor found that his body temperature was 38.2℃, accompanied by severe pain in the wrist and ankle joints, rash and other symptoms. It was highly suspected that he had an imported mosquito-borne infectious disease (Chikungunya fever) and the case was immediately registered and the information was reported according to the process.
The hospital's infection control department arrived at the scene immediately, conducting an epidemiological and travel history investigation on the patient. After thorough consultation with the patient, the suspected case was temporarily placed in an isolation room. The department reported the situation to the district CDC, who then transferred the patient to a fever clinic for confirmation. Hospital disinfection personnel were quickly dispatched to conduct terminal disinfection of the patient's area and to conduct emergency mosquito control measures within the hospital.
This drill covered patient reception, isolation and treatment, epidemic reporting, epidemiological investigation and tracing, and environmental disinfection, testing the plan and strengthening the team with real-world standards. The multi-departmental response and standardized handling achieved the desired results. The hospital will use training to promote both prevention and response, continuously improving its emergency response mechanisms, strengthening multi-departmental collaboration and its practical capabilities for "early detection, rapid response, and spread prevention," and fully safeguarding the health and safety of the public.
