    CHP closely monitors additional human case of avian influenza A(H7N9) in Mainland


    The Centre for Health Protection (CHP) of the Department of Health (DH) is closely monitoring, as of yesterday (May 1), an additional human case of avian influenza A(H7N9) in Jiangxi according to the latest report of the Mainland health authority. The male patient aged 23 is now hospitalised for treatment.

    A total of 418 human cases of avian influenza A(H7N9) have been confirmed in the Mainland, including:
    1. Zhejiang (138 cases),
    2. Guangdong (103 cases),
    3. Jiangsu (53 cases),
    4. Shanghai (41 cases),
    5. Fujian (22 cases),
    6. Hunan (22 cases),
    7. Anhui (14 cases),
    8. Jiangxi (eight cases),
    9. Beijing (four cases),
    10. Henan (four cases),
    11. Guangxi (three cases),
    12. Shandong (three cases),
    13. Guizhou (one case, imported from Zhejiang),
    14. Hebei (one case) and
    15. Jilin (one case).
