    CHP closely monitors two additional human cases of avian influenza A(H7N9) in Mainland


    The Centre for Health Protection (CHP) of the Department of Health (DH) is closely monitoring, as of yesterday (April 18), two additional human cases of avian influenza A(H7N9) in Jiangsu and Anhui according to the latest reports of the Mainland health authorities.

    The case in Jiangsu involves a man aged 34 who is currently hospitalised for treatment. The case in Anhui involves a man aged 70 who passed away on April 14.

    A total of 411 human cases of avian influenza A(H7N9) have been confirmed in the Mainland, including:
    1. Zhejiang (138 cases),
    2. Guangdong (102 cases),
    3. Jiangsu (51 cases),
    4. Shanghai (41 cases),
    5. Fujian (22 cases),
    6. Hunan (21 cases),
    7. Anhui (13 cases),
    8. Jiangxi (six cases),
    9. Beijing (four cases),
    10. Henan (four cases),
    11. Guangxi (three cases),
    12. Shandong (three cases),
    13. Guizhou (one case, imported from Zhejiang),
    14. Hebei (one case) and
    15. Jilin (one case).
