  • China - Media: Two cases of H7N9 avian influenza reported in Jiangsu Province

    According to the Jiangsu Provincial Health Committee on February 22 informed, February 13 to February 24 at 24:00, the province's total reporter infected H7N9 avian influenza (hereinafter referred to as H7N9) incidence of 2 cases, the new Increased death in 1 case. Cases are distributed in Suzhou, Taizhou 2 cities.

    According to HFPC of Jiangsu province's announcement on Feb. 22, the said province reported H7N9 cases during Feb.13:00 - Feb. 19 24:00 where two(2) onsets and one(1) death.
    The patients are from Suzhou city and Taizhou city.

    Provincial HFPC is thinking H7N9 prevention activity is highly important. The Chinese government held a Tele-conference on Feb. 21 morning. After the conference, Provincial government also held a tele-conference and requested followings:
    Each city government and departments concerned should implement her responsibility, Increase the source control efforts; Actively do their best in medical treatment, continue to save the patient; Strengthen Flu-monitering and Early Detection and Early treatment; Strengthen the leadership, Improve the joint prevention and control mechanism. Furthermore, Publicize and educate the people on H7N9 prevention.
    After the meeting, Province's joint prevention and control system related departments started to check the concerned city's activities are well implemented or not at the site(s); Provincial professionals also start patroling to check the medical treatment there in order to further improve their medical success rate in treatment.
