Hong Kong should consider ban on live poultry sales -- W.H.O. Director-General
"The Director-General of the World Health Organisation, Margaret Chan, says Hong Kong should consider banning the sale of live poultry.
Speaking at a conference in Hong Kong, she said that wet markets were a breeding ground for deadly new diseases. But Dr Chan - the territory's former director of health - acknowledged that it would be difficult to impose a ban because of the local preference for fresh chicken."
