    The reporter learned that since April, the province has successively in 6 counties of Suzhou, Yumen, Guazhou of Jiuquan City, and Ganzhou, Shandan, Gaotai of Zhangye City, the H7N9 virus was detected in the routine monitoring of the urban environment outside one after another.     (From edition 1) Ganzhou District CDC on April 16 collected the environmental specimens from the patient's working place of hot chicken shop, and detected H7N9 virus.
    April 22, Guizhou County of Jiuquan City, diagnosed a case. The patient is a 47-year-old female. She helped her husband?s live poultry shop to sell the birds so many times before the onset. Though symptoms appeared on Apr. 11, she did not go to the hospital. On April 17, since illness got worth, she went to a private clinic. On Apr. 20, her condition get serious and she was transferred to Yumen City?s People?s Hospital for treatment and diagnosed as suspected H7N9 case. The result of sample testing was H7N9 positive. She was transferred to Jiuquan City People?s Hospital for isolation treatment. As her condition is critical and there are multiple organ failures seen, she is currently receiving active treatment.

    According to the NHFPC, 511 cases of H7N9 have been reported in 2017 in 22 provinces, of which 188 have died. In late March the epidemic began to spread to the west and north.
    In April, Beijing, Tianjin, and Liaoning reported the first case in this season, and Gansu, Tibet reported the first cases of H7N9 AIV since 2013. Further, the number of reported cases in April in Hebei and Shandong were significantly higher than the previous few months, the epidemic was on the rise; The southern provinces still have epidemic(s).
    With the increase in new areas, within these two weeks, the epidemic has rebounded in the mainland, and prevention/control is in so difficult situation.
    According to the national case survey, 90% of the cases were reported they have exposures to the live birds before their onsets, 69% of which were exposed to the live poultry market(s) or market source of live poultry(s), and 21% were exposed to domestic poultry or other live poultry environment.
    The live poultry market(s) and infected chickens contaminated with the H7N9 virus are the main source of infection. It has not yet been found that the virus has evidence of changes in human infectivity, virulence and interpersonal communication.
