After the diagnosis of the cases, the local health administrative departments should, in time the basic situation of cases, cases for medical treatment after, reported close contacts management information submitted in writing.

            Confirmed cases have been reported in the area start of the epidemic reporting system of the provincial health administrative departments, daily 10:00 pm to 24 pm the previous day 0 of the area people infected with the H7N9 avian influenza and epidemic prevention control dynamic reporting.

            Information Office of the Ministry of Agriculture announced that refers to the National Avian Influenza Reference Laboratory for inspection from Shanghai Songjiang District, Shanghai Huai agricultural and sideline products wholesale markets dove samples detected the H7N9 avian influenza virus gene sequence analysis showed that the strain caused by low pathogenic avian influenza virus, a high degree of homology with the H7N9 avian influenza virus isolates.

            In view of the fact that the virus pose a threat to the safety of human life, the Chinese government has decided to temporarily animals infected with the H7N9 avian influenza virus into an animal disease management to expand the scope of monitoring of H7N9 avian influenza virus.

            China's official media quoted the words of the spokesman for the World Health Organization Hartle, not yet found evidence that the H7N9 avian flu spread from person to person, it has been found that the virus mutate to become susceptible to infection with the human body.

            National Health and Family Planning Commission said on that day, will continue to keep open and transparent with WHO and national, regional information communication and exchange. Consultations of the Commission and the WHO representative office in China, the two sides agreed to further enhance risk communication and risk assessment.

            Chinese Academy of Engineering, said director Li Lanjuan of the diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases, State Key Laboratory, found no human infection with the H7N9 avian influenza virus of the second generation of cases, that is, people infected with the virus from birds, the patients do not spread the virus to other people, such as relatives and then attending medical personnel.

                The Centre for Health Protection (CHP) of the Department of Health received notification from the National Health and Family Planning Commission (the Commission) tonight (April 4) concerning three more confirmed human cases of influenza A (H7N9).

                A CHP spokesman said the three cases involved a 67-year-old woman, who is in critical condition; a 4-year-old boy, who is in satisfactory condition; and a 52-year-old female patient who passed away yesterday (April 3).

                Laboratory tests on the three patients' specimens by the Mainland health authorities yielded a positive result for H7N9.

                According to the Commission, no epidemiological link between the three cases was identified.

                So far, except a close contact of the 52-year-old female patient developed fever and runny nose, no abnormality was detected among the other 51 close contacts of three cases.

                The spokesman said that influenza A (H7) is a statutorily notifiable infectious disease in Hong Kong. The CHP is maintaining close liaison with the Mainland health authorities to obtain more information on the cases.

                "We will heighten our vigilance and continue to maintain stringent port health measures in connection with this development," the spokesman said.

                The spokesman also advised travellers especially those returning from Shanghai, Anhui, Jiangsu and Zhejiang with respiratory symptoms to wear facial masks and seek medical attention and reveal their travel histories to doctors. Health-care professionals should also pay special attention to those travellers who might have contact with birds or poultry in the four places.

                The spokesman reminded members of the public to remain vigilant against avian influenza infection and to observe the following measures:
                • Avoid direct contact with poultry and birds or their droppings; if contacts have been made, they should wash hands thoroughly with soap and water;
                • Poultry and eggs should be thoroughly cooked before eating;

                • Wear a mask when you have respiratory symptoms or need to take care of patients with fever; and
                • When you have fever and influenza-like illnesses during a trip or when coming back to Hong Kong, you should consult doctors promptly and reveal your travel history.

                        We are grateful to the samplers, the depositing labs and the GISAID consortium for making the small batch of evaluation material available on 2013-03-31 during this zoonotic epidemic emergence of H7N9 that has the very unfortunate combination of a High Case Fatality Rate and Low clinical intervention effectiveness [GISAID Citations].

                        The H7N9 human cases show clinically and experimentally-confirmed Gain of Function traits on a minimum of 3 gene segments:
                        • Hemagglutinin 226L
                        • Neuraminidase aa69-73 stalk deletion (15 base)
                        • Polymerase Basic 2 627K

                        The H7N9 sequences are related at the polymorphism level to widely circulating human virus patterns including pH1N1, sH3N2 and to fatal human H5N1. Each component of the H7N9 human cases carries sub-segment genetics that have seen mammalian adaptation, including the external proteins, Hemagglutinin and Neuraminidase.

                        An up-to-date and comprehensive follow-up evaluation for each HA polymorphism found on the 3 human H7N9 sequences was provided Wednesday, 2013-04-03, demonstrating the Cross Serotype Homology details. The preliminary H7N9 Novelty Evaluation and Relationship Potential to pH1N1 with detailed Hemagglutinin amino-level polymorphism surfacing was made available for preview on 2013-03-31, formalised at midnight and is now being versioned.

                        Genetic specifics concerning animal origins and human / mammal adaption are under analysis. The full text of those intermediate reports are currently in pre-publication viewing status and are available at the following links. These compilations will be updated as labs release new sequences.

                        Additional sequences from early emergence fatal and recovered cases are critical to understanding the immune dynamics required for establishing a bulkhead toward the protection of public health.
