In order to promptly discover and understand the health hazards of avian influenza viruses to occupationally exposed people, and effectively carry out monitoring and early warning work for the prevention and control of human avian influenza, from March 11 to 12, the Beihai Municipal Center for Disease Control and Prevention (Beihai Municipal Health Supervision Institute) and Bank of China The Hai District Center for Disease Control and Prevention (Yinhai District Health Supervision Office) went to Fucheng Town, Yinhai District to carry out serum monitoring of people occupationally exposed to human avian influenza and publicity on human avian influenza prevention and control knowledge.
The staff first carried out popular science propaganda on the prevention and control of human avian influenza among occupationally exposed groups such as live poultry wholesale market personnel, poultry slaughtering and processing personnel, and free-range poultry farmers. At the same time, they conducted a questionnaire survey on the prevention and control knowledge of human infection of avian influenza among occupationally exposed groups. Serological monitoring is carried out after obtaining the consent of the occupationally exposed people, and finally, corresponding external environmental specimens are collected from the working environment of the occupationally exposed people.
This monitoring work distributed a batch of popular science knowledge brochures, surveyed 35 people, and collected 35 serum samples and 10 external environmental samples from people with occupational exposure to avian influenza. We further understood the distribution of avian influenza viruses in the local environment and the infection situation among people, and assessed the risk of human avian influenza epidemics to effectively protect the physical and mental health of the people.
At the same time, the general public is also reminded to take personal protection and wash hands frequently. If acute respiratory symptoms such as fever and cough occur, they should seek medical treatment in time; purchase live poultry with quarantine certificates; sell and slaughter poultry in standardized operations to prevent contamination; if poultry is found to have Deaths or suspicious situations must be reported to the animal husbandry department in a timely manner; sick and dead poultry must be treated harmlessly so that they are not sold, processed, or eaten.
