Liu Mou, male, 52 years old, from Gaozhou, Maoming, Guangdong, currently living in Wanjiang Street, Dongguan City. Currently, the patient is actively treated in a designated hospital in Dongguan City.

Experts judged that the case that appeared this time was an accidental case, and the risk of transmission of the virus is low at this stage. Experts remind: citizens should continue to be vigilant and take the following measures to prevent H5N6 and other bird flu.

The Centre for Health Protection (CHP) of the Department of Health is today (October 29) closely monitoring a human case of avian influenza A(H5N6) in the Mainland, and again urged the public to maintain strict personal, food and environmental hygiene both locally and during travel.

The case involves a 52-year-old man living in Dongguan, Guangdong Province. He works at a farmers' market with a live domestic poultry stall. He developed symptoms on October 20, and was admitted for treatment on the same day. The patient is in critical condition.
