The Information Office of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs released on February 1 that a poultry H5N1 subtype highly pathogenic bird flu outbreak occurred in Shuangqing District, Shaoyang City, Hunan Province.
On February 1st, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs received a report from the China Animal Epidemic Disease Prevention and Control Center. After confirmed by the National Avian Influenza Reference Laboratory, broiler chickens raised by a farmer in Shuangqing District of Shaoyang City had an H5N1 subtype highly pathogenic avian influenza outbreak. The number of broiler chickens kept by the farmers was 7,850, and 4,500 died. After the epidemic occurred, the local government did a good job in handling the epidemic situation in accordance with the requirements of relevant plans and technical specifications for prevention and control. 17,828 poultry have been culled, and all the sick and culled poultry have been harmlessly treated.
We are concentrating on the 2019 nCoV outbreak, but we should not forget that other epizootic diseases, such as avian influenza, could again spur an outbreak in humans. Novel disease outbreaks are not necessarily sequential. It would be a disaster if public health officials had to battle an influenza epidemic along with a coronavirus epidemic.
..Reporters asked about the case of H5N1 bird flu found in animals in Hunan. Area near the city of Wuhan Will be mixed with a new species of corona virus 2019 or not Associate Professor (Special) Dr. Thawee said H1N5 and the new strain of the coronary virus 2019 are different groups that cannot be mixed.
